Sevier County is one of the most beautiful places in the world! That’s why over 9 million people from across the world come to visit our county every year. Keep Sevier Beautiful is committed to improving our communities through programs that beautify our environment by promoting responsible planting, distressed property restoration, roadway and waterway beautification.
Greening – or beautification – helps build vibrant communities! Not only does Keep Sevier Beautiful recognize the importance of creating green spaces for the environment, but research shows that beautification has much further reaching benefits. Green spaces have shown to increase property values, yield increased revenue streams and decreases infrastructure costs by aiding in stormwater and soil erosion.
Spending time around plants and gardens has been shown to increase life satisfaction and decrease stress, aggression, and mental fatigue. The act of gardening is also a great way to get exercise, and edible gardening provides fresh and healthy produce.
Keep Sevier Beautiful offers a variety of programs to green and beautify our community. From our annual celebration of National Planting Day and our ongoing commitment to our Good Earth Gardens, to organizing volunteers to beautify neglected properties through our Project Restore, we are committee to keeping our county beautiful! We also encourage our residents and provide resources so they can continue the beauty of our region’s environment and support our local ecosystem by planting native plants, removing invasive exotics.
