Litter Education

Keep Sevier Beautiful works in conjunction with the Sevier County School System in several different areas to impact the youth of Sevier County.

  • Keep Sevier Beautiful is offering a $1,000 scholarship to a deserving senior who has embodied the mission of Keep Sevier Beautiful.  For more information, click KEEP SEVIER BEAUTIFUL TRILLIUM SCHOLARSHIP application.
  • Learn GREEN, Live GREEN – Following TCAP, KSB visits every 2nd grade classroom for a 30 minute environmental lesson. Giving a hardcover book to each second Grade classroom and multiple “environmental gifts” to each student.  This year, EVIE comes back with her second book – EVIE Goes Clean & Green
  • Fred & Ted – focuses on storm water through a fun adventure of two fish traveling downstream.  One enjoys a clean TN stream while the other encounters pollutants along the way.  A fun, interactive class taught at the Eugene Huskey Environmental Center to all fourth grade students.
  • Garbage Pizza – focuses on the waste stream and waste disposal options for Sevier County Vs. the United States through an interactive class where students create four different garbage pizzas.  Class is taught at the Eugene Huskey Environmental Center to all sixth grade students.
  • Sponsor a 4H essay contest for students in fourth thru twelfth grade.
  • Sevier Solid Waste informational video. Educating the citizens of Sevier County on the benefits of the 2nd largest Household Solid Waste Composting Facility in North America and the largest in the United States.
  • Compost Stew with Ms. Karen Sue – An interactive lesson on composting.  Can be taught to any group.

Don’t see an education class you’d like to have?  We can cater to any group of any size and any age and address beautification, litter and recycling.  We have interactive classes such as making paper, plarn, crafts from recycled materials to lessons.
